Mercer Speech Team Competes at Bethel Park Invitational

The Mercer Speech Team traveled to Bethel Park on February 13th-14th to compete in the largest and most competitive tournament in the regular season. There were over 400 student participants representing 31 schools from Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The Mercer Speech Team finished 3rd overall, out of 31 schools, in speech sweepstakes. Fifteen of Mercer's 23 speakers advanced into the speech elimination rounds. Here are the results from the 28th Annual Bethel Park Blackhawk Invitational:

Duo Interpretation:
3rd- Ryan Hamilton and Adam Hoge
Quarterfinalists- Hailee Ostapko and Abby Grabigel

Humorous Interpretation:
4th- Ian Ollila
10th- Andrew Brinker
Quarterfinalist- Gray Covert
Quarterfinalist- Mason Borowicz

Original Oratory:
9th- Emily Kirila
Quarterfinalist- Elizabeth Ludwig
Quarterfinalist- Rachel Bish

Dramatic Interpretation:
12th- Maddie Rowe
Quarterfinalist- Janalyn Miklas

Poetic Interpretation:
12th- Sarah Turton

Extemporaneous Speaking:
Quarterfinalist- Evan Daugherty
