Congratulations to Senior Justin Reno on his 11th place finish at last week's District 10 Cross Country Championships @ Buhl Park.

Justin will compete at the 
PIAA State Cross Country Championships in Hershey this Saturday for the 3rd time.

Students in grades 7-12 will participate in the Middle School Concert Choir, High School Concert Choir, and the Chamber Choir throughout the concert.

AFTER-SCHOOL 

MUSTANG STAR ACADEMY 

TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK

The Mercer Area School District is teaming up with the United Way of Mercer County to offer an After-School Program for students in grades 6, 7, & 8.

The 21^st Century Community Learning Center (21^st CCLC) is a grant funded through the United Way that supports an After-School Program geared towards providing the following services to students:

• Innovative Academic Enrichment Activities that will assist in the improved performance of students in their efforts to meet local & state achievement standards.
• Increased skills & interest in Science, Math, & Technology through STEAM & STEM related programs & activities.
• Character Education programs
• Career Readiness & the development of connections with local businesses
• Physical Fitness & Wellness activities

In addition to these programs, students that participate in the MUSTANG STAR ACADEMY will receive assistance with their daily homework assignments.

The MUSTANG STAR ACADEMY will run Monday through Thursday from 

3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. beginning Monday, October 23rd, 2017.

Students that attend the program will receive an after-school snack. Transportation will not be provided. Families will be required to pick up their children from the school at 6:30 p.m. each day that they participate in the program.

If you are interested in participating in this innovative after-school enrichment program please fill out & return the enrollment form that was mailed home last week to either the elementary office (6^th grade students) or the middle-high school office (7^th & 8^th grade students) by Friday, October 20th.

"PAINT THE PLOW" PROJECT

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS

Ms. Martin & members of the Mercer Middle-High School Art Club participated in PennDot's "Paint the Plow" Program earlier this fall. 

Their submission took home top honors in the "Fan Favorite" Category, which was based on online voting, & the "People's Choice" Category, based on donations given at the annual county open house.
