ACADEMIC AWARDS BANQUET TO CELEBRATE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT 
& DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI

The Annual Academic Awards Banquet will take place on Wednesday, May 17th at 
6:00 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria.

Students in grades 7-12 will be recognized for 
their academic achievement throughout the 
2016-17 school year. 

Recognition awards will include:
 Middle School Students of the Year
High Honor Roll for 2016-17 school year
National Honor Society Members
National Junior Honor Society Members
Top 10 Members of the Class of 2017
Robotics Team Members
Extreme Leadership Participants
Equus Board of Student Directors
Student of the Month Award Recipients
Academic Games Participants
Student Council Members
Class Officers for the 2016-17 school year

In addition, the 18th class of inductees to the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame will be recognized during the banquet. 

This year's inductees include 
Mr. Cedric Butchy (class of 1968) & 
General Alexander Hays (class of 1836) 

Invitations were sent to the families of students 
that will be recognized at the banquet in the mail several weeks ago. 

The deadline to return reservation forms for the banquet is Wednesday, May 10th. 
(forms can be returned to the main office)

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY & 
NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION CEREMONY NEXT WEEK.

The Induction Ceremony for new members 

into the National Honor Society & 
National Junior Honor Society will take place 

next Monday (May 1st) at 7:00 p.m. 

in the High School Auditorium.

A reception for all National Honor Society & National Junior Honor Society Members will be held immediately following the induction ceremony in the High School Library.

SPRING CHORAL CONCERT THIS WEEK!!!

The Mercer Middle-High School Spring Choral Concert will take place this Thursday (April 27th) in the High School Auditorium @ 7:30 p.m.

Students in grades 7-12 will participate in the Middle School Choir, High School Concert Choir, and the Chamber Choir throughout the concert. 

Members of the class of 2017 will also be recognized during the concert.

MERCER MIDDLE-HIGH SCHOOL

Next week will be Senior Spirit Week in celebration of the 12th grade students last 

full month at Mercer Middle-High School. 

Listed below are the themes for each day of Senior Spirit Week 

(April 24th - April 28th):

MONDAY: SENIOR SLUMP DAY 

(Wear your Sweatpants to School)

TUESDAY: 90's DAY

(Celebrating the last group of students born in the 1990s)

WEDNESDAY: SENIOR CITIZEN DAY

(Dress like your grandparents!)

THURSDAY: SENIOR VACAY DAY

(Wear your Hawaiian Shirts to School)

FRIDAY: CLASS COLOR WAR DAY

(Each grade level will wear a different color.)

7th Grade: Green

8th Grade: Black

9th Grade: Orange

10th Grade: Yellow

11th Grade: Red

12th Grade: Blue

Students will be permitted to wear hats throughout the week provided they follow the theme for each day. All other aspects of the dress code must be followed. 

In addition, 12th grade students will be permitted to Chalk/Paint their parking spots 

in the Student lots during the Advisory Period on Monday (April 24th).
