Speech Results from CFL Nationals

Qualifying members of the Mercer Speech Team travelled to Sacramento, California over Memorial Day weekend to compete in the 65th Annual Grand National Tournament. Any participant at the Grand National Tournament had already advanced through qualification rounds in the regional competition.

The Mercer Speech Team was well represented with strong performances by individual speakers.



Rachel Bish (11th grade) competed in Original Oratory. Rachel barely missed advancing into the elimination rounds by only one ranking.

Ryan Hamilton (12th grade) and Maddie Rowe (10th grade) competed in Duo Interpretation. This team missed advancing into the elimination rounds by falling short by only two rankings.

Evan Daugherty (10th grade) competed in Prose and Poetry Interpretation. Evan barely missed advancing into the elimination rounds by falling short by only two rankings.

Commencement - Friday, June 3rd

The Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2016 will take place on Friday, June 3rd in the Mercer High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

Spectators must have a ticket to be admitted into Commencement.

Senior Awards Assembly - Thursday, June 2nd

The Senior Awards Assembly for the Class of 2016 will take place at 8:45 a.m. in the Mercer High School Auditorium. The program will run for approximately two hours in length.

This annual event provides the graduating class with an opportunity to be recognized for scholarships and awards that they have received. Various members of the community will be on hand to present awards and scholarships to the recipients.

Parents of senior class members are also welcome to attend the event.

Baccalaureate Service TONIGHT

The Baccalaureate service for the Class of 2016 will be held TONIGHT in the Mercer High School Auditorium. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The event is hosted by the Mercer Area Ministerial Association. Spiritual leaders from the Mercer community will coordinate the proceedings. These leaders include: Pastor David Robinson, Reverend Tina Kellar, Pastor Peter Dembroski,  and Reverend Brian Kellar.
