"Meet the Mustangs" this Wednesday

Mercer Middle-High School’s annual “Meet the Mustangs” Night for the Winter Sports season will be held on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016.

“Meet the Mustangs” will begin at 8:00 p.m. in the High School Gymnasium. 

All varsity winter sports teams, (Boys’ Basketball, Girls’ Basketball, Wrestling, & Competitive Spirit), middle school winter sports teams (Girls’ Basketball, Boys’ Basketball & Wrestling), the cheerleading squads, and the high school pep band will be introduced.

Season tickets for Boys’ Basketball, Girls’ Basketball, & Wrestling will also be sold from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.

The Robotics Team competed in the BEST Robotics Regional Competition that was held 

at North Dakota State University this past weekend.

The team took home 10th place in the 

Robot Category of the competition and 2nd place in the T-Shirt Design Category.

Members of Ms. Martin's Art Classes traveled to Mercer Hardware on Wednesday, November 30th in the afternoon to decorate the store front in preparation for the Light Up Night Festivities that will take place in the Courthouse Square on Friday, December 2nd.

WEEK OF WELLNESS

AT MIDDLE-HIGH SCHOOL

There were several activities held last week @ the Middle-High School as part of the "Week of Wellness":

1) 8th & 9th grade students took part in a Health Fair during the morning of Thursday, November 17th. Students had the opportunity to spend time at several different stations in the gymnasium & fitness center. 

2) Mrs. Sevin's Physiology class had different games & activities for students to participate in during the lunch periods on Friday, November 18th. Students earned tickets for prizes by participating in each activity throughout the cafeteria. 

3) A Door Decorating Contest was held during Advisory periods throughout the week. Listed below are the results from the contest:

1st Place: Mrs. Gilmore & Ms. Martin 

(Both Mrs. Gilmore & Ms. Martin's Advisory classes will receive a popcorn party from the Pittsburgh Popcorn Co.)

2nd Place: Mrs. Edney

3rd Place: Mr. Gadsby & Mrs. Rowe

Honorable Mention: Mr. Mausser

4) Central Blood Bank sponsored a Blood Drive on Thursday, November 17th from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 47 individuals were able to successfully donate blood during the drive, with 36 of them being 1st time donors. These donations helped nearly 150 patients over the weekend at local hospitals.

Special thank you to Mrs. Sevin, Mrs. Santom, & Mrs. Bello for all of their hard work to make the "Week of Wellness" a success.
