Record-Argus Prints Feature on Mercer Mascot

Pick up your copy of the Greenville Record-Argus today (October 1st) to see a news feature on the front page about the new Mercer mascot. This article, written by Lisa Carlson Miller, does a great job of depicting the deep connection between the "Number One Fan" and the Mercer Area School District.

The new Mercer mascot was purchased in July completely through donations from the family of Elda Hoovler, Mercer's "Number One Fan". Hoovler was known around the Mercer community for attending almost all Mercer school events.

On behalf of the Mercer School District, I cannot express enough gratitude to the family of Elda Hoovler for their generous donation and continued dedication to this school system.
